Business Manager, Professional Practice & Chief Nursing Executive

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a matrix reporting relationship to the Vice President/Chief Nursing Executive of Quality, Patient Safety & Professional Scholarly Practice, the Business Manager is responsible to ensure effective business management of the Quality, Patient Safety & Professional Scholarly Practice portfolio to maximize the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient patient care, education and research. Working with other LHSC leaders, the Business Manager coordinates space, capital equipment, operating budget and human resources. Specific attention is also provided to revenue management and Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) funding reconciliation, financial accountability and retail business planning. The incumbent will provide financial oversight, business modeling, projections and advice for for-profit enterprises.
Working within the guidelines, policies and practices of the hospital (Financial, Quality and Performance, Risk Management and HMMS departments), this role is responsible for proposing, establishing, educating, implementing and monitoring program-wide business planning, reporting, financial and control processes/practices to safeguard corporate assets, and to providing financial decision support information to enable management to assess and enhance financial and operating performance. Working with the VP, this role provides business process re-design advice for select priority projects and program processes to ensure effective operations, both within the program and across LHSC.
